Forklift Engine Rebuild

Problem

A yard forklift lost compression and was blowing smoke under load. The customer was quoted a full machine replacement elsewhere.

Diagnosis

A compression and leak-down test confirmed worn rings and scored cylinder walls, with contaminated oil pointing to long-term overheating.

Repairs Performed

• Removed and disassembled the engine in our shop
• Machined the block and installed new pistons, rings and bearings
• Reconditioned the cylinder head and replaced valve seals
• Replaced water pump, hoses, belts and radiator
• Reassembled, broke in and dyno-checked the engine
